A brow lift, or forehead lift, is a surgical procedure that lifts and raises your eyebrows, improves the appearance of your forehead, reduces wrinkles and lax skin, and makes you look years younger. Dr. Johnson can combine a brow lift with other cosmetic procedures, such as a facelift or a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), depending on your needs and goals.

After scheduling your brow lift in Fort Worth, you may experience swelling, tenderness, bruising, and redness. However, soon after, you can expect a smoother, tighter, younger-looking forehead and eyebrow area. Protect your skin from the sun to minimize future signs of aging.
How is a Brow Lift Performed?
Step 1: Endoscopic Brow Lift
An endoscopic, or minimal-incision, brow lift utilizes an endoscope to minimize loss of feeling and hair at the incision sites. Endoscopic brow lifts are geared toward rejuvenating the forehead and brow area by lifting and tightening the skin and underlying tissues. It is performed using an endoscope which allows the surgeon to see and operate on the tissues through small incisions in the scalp.
Step 2: Temporal Brow Lift
This procedure is commonly performed to address sagging or drooping eyebrows, forehead wrinkles, and hooding of the upper eyelids. It is performed by making a barely noticeable 1.5″ to 2″ incision on each side of your forehead at the hairline. At your consultation, we can discuss whether a temporal brow lift or an endoscopic brow lift is better for your needs.
Step 3: Coronal Brow Lift
A coronal, or classic, brow lift isn’t frequently used anymore due to the extensive incisions required. However, for patients with high hairlines, the hairline position can be maintained or even lowered by a brow lift using this technique. When performed meticulously, this incision is barely detectable. The eyebrows are elevated and any excess skin will be trimmed away to help create a smoother appearance.
Brow Lift FAQs
Dr. Johnson will determine your candidacy after discussing your desired results and medical history. She examines the skin on your face, brows, forehead, and surrounding tissues before customizing your treatment plan for a brow lift in Fort Worth. You may be a candidate for the procedure if you’re otherwise in good health but experience unwelcome signs of facial aging—especially in the upper part of your face.
After your brow lift, you may experience temporary side effects such as swelling, tenderness, bruising, and redness. Take medicines as directed, keep the treatment site clean, and use a cold compress to reduce swelling. Bandages are removed after several days, and your sutures (or staples) will come out in 1 week. In a few weeks, you can expect a smoother, younger-looking forehead and lifted eyebrows.
Low, flat brows can occur as early as your 30s. Some patients, in that age range, may come in for hooding of the upper eyelids and are suitable candidates for a brow lift and/or eyelid lift. Other patients may not see their brows drooping until considerably later in life. So the best time to get a brow lift depends on each patient’s unique needs and anatomy.
