Expectations
EMFACE is the first and only non-invasive and needle-free treatment to tone facial muscles and ultimately lift the look of the face. It combines Radio Frequency (RF) and High-Intensity Facial Electromagnetic Stimulation (HIFES) energies in one device! The RF produces thermal energy to improve collagen and elastin production while the HIFES stimulates individual facial muscle contractions to tone the major lifting muscles of the face.
How is EMface Performed?
Step 1: Consultation
To prepare for your EMface procedure, our aesthetic providers will ask about your medical history, examine your skin, and answer any questions you may have. During this consultation, we will discuss your concerns and goals. Dr. Johnson will provide instructions to follow prior to the procedure, which will include not taking certain medicines or supplements and avoiding certain skincare products.
Step 2: Procedure
During the treatment, applicators are placed on the face directly over the main face-lifting muscles. The proper settings are selected, and the procedure lasts approximately 20-40 minutes (in addition to the 10-20 minutes of set up and post-treatment instruction).
Step 3: Recovery
After the procedure, it’s important to get plenty of rest and stay hydrated. You may also experience mild muscle soreness for a few days.
EMFACE FAQs
EMface helps restore facial muscle tone while not actually bulking the muscle. Just as a strong abdominal core helps draw in the stomach and provide support, improving facial muscle tone helps lift the structures of the face that have fallen with age and time (ex: facial fat pads) to help improve facial contours. When used in combination with RF energy, the texture of the overlying skin is also improved. It also has been shown to preserve facial volume and can be performed safely on patients who also undergo neurotoxin (Botox) treatments.
EMface treatments should not cause pain, though you will feel intense muscle contractions due to the use of HIFES. The strength of these muscle contractions can be adjusted to make your treatment effective and comfortable.
Some patients see results in as little as 1 treatment, but most will see optimal results after a series of 4+ treatments. You can see your full results after 6 months.
